Jed is a great singer / song-writer who combines the genres of acoustic soul, electronica and hip-hop, fusing together both urban and rural cultures to create a unique sound. Jed's music does not conform to any one genre, but embraces many, hypnotizing his audience with a potpourri of eclectic symphonic melodies. In the short time Jed has been performing on the music scene in San Diego, his music has evolved from the earthly sounds of a country boy with a guitar to an exploratory musician with a knack for musical mashups. His music is filled with emotional longing, the triumph of overcoming incredible odds and the realization that life is an ongoing process of transformation.
"Jed's music is heart-felt and powerful, sometimes unusual, but every song has a warm, head-bopping quality to it. It reminds me of home."
Jed is a multi-faceted artist. He plays several instruments when in the studio, but his live performances are most often performed with only a guitar. His latest recordings stretch far beyond the traditional jwehrdfhjsinger / song-writer ideal and employ a plethora of electric sounds that underline his music with a mesmerizing dream-like quality. The influences of Prince, Michael Jackson and Beck have been observed in many of his songs.
Jed's second album Fargo (to be released in 2010) is a courageous, beat-driven mix of Americana and Electronica that embodies the hymns of conscious living, complexities of a nuclear family and the social impact of digital hootenannies.
Jed would love to perform live with Jason Mraz, Bushwalla, Beck, Muse and his favorite artist, Prince.
